What next?

You might be wondering about what happened to my website, since my goals and my mission have vanished… well, I decided to take them offline for some time (maybe forever). It’s probably because I somehow feel some change inside. Of course, I still have my goals (albeit offline). I just decided to keep it low-profile for the moment and make a decision on what to do with my website.
Overall, I guess my main question of life is now: What next?

I’ll take some time to contemplate and hope to be back soon! Thanks!

Thank you, Asia! It was FAB!

Time to go home… Three months of intense traveling and amazing experiences have gone by so fast! I knew the time to leave Asia behind would come, but it still hurts a little… It’s because of all the fantastic times I have had here… Such great memories!
Well, here I am, at KL airport, waiting for my flight back to The Netherlands…

Drop-offs, waterfalls and sawas

As I had mentioned in my last post, we had planned two dives at Menjangan Island, all the way up on the north western coast of Bali. Boy, was I nervous! I was hoping for another good diving experience, but this one turned out to be a bit less fine, in terms of my claustrophobia… The underwater world made up for it though! Diving at Menjangan Island is amazing!

Indonesia! Oh Indonesia!

Wow! We’ve done so many things during the past week and had so many great experiences that I don’t even know where to start… :)
First off, Java and Bali have just been amazing so far! Such great nature with the most beautiful ricepaddies I’ve ever seen, giant volcanoes (Indonesia has 129 active ones!!), and the people are just amazing… This country is incredible! …Click here to read the full article…

Seaturtles and skyscrapers

I am writing this post from a lovely hotel in Kuala Lumpur, where I hope to get some rest before my journey into Indonesia starts, this time with Derk! He will arrive tomorrow afternoon! Looking forward to his arrival :)
This post will be about my days in Singapore and of course I still have to tell you about new adventures during my last day on the Perhentians… …Click here to read the full article…

Perhentians = Paradise!

Ever since I was a little girl I dreamed of white sand beaches, palmtrees and pristine waters. I had posters of idyllic beaches on the walls of my bedroom and everytime I saw a beach like that on tv, I would jump up and tell my parents that I would go there one day… I kept on keeping my dream alive and finally… I can now say it has become reality!

Great adventures in Malaysia!

I finally found some time to write a post about my stay in Malaysia! So far it’s been fantastic! It’s not a country to visit for culture or a real Asian feel (it’s actually very modern, well-organized and rich, not like you’re in Asia at all :)), but the nature is absolutely awesome! Think lush green rainforests, birds, animals, mountains, tea plantations and tropical islands…

Bays, mountains and hill tribes

It’s been almost two weeks now, and my time in Vietnam is almost over! Tomorrow I’ll be flying south, to Kuala Lumpur and continue my journey into Malaysia and Singapore.
In India I learned to eat with my hands and in Vietnam I learned to eat with chopsticks (yes, I can do it now!). I wonder if there are any other ways of eating waiting for me in the next three countries I’m going to visit… …Click here to read the full article…

Thank you India! Hello Vietnam!

Time went by fast in the ashram! Before I knew it, I was back in the taxi, driving to the airport, passing by beautiful rainforests.
It was wonderful to experience ashram life in India! I have met some great people and I’ve learned a lot about myself, and about yoga and controlling the mind and taking charge of your own life. A special experience! Overall my time in India was fantastic. Yes, the cities are very crowded and chaotic and there’s a lot of poverty, but the country is beautiful and rich in terms of culture and nature. And the people are so friendly! …Click here to read the full article…

Yoga class in India

Last monday my retreat started! I am staying at a small ashram, located near Kodaikanal, in the hills of Tamil Nadu, southern India, at an altitude of around 2000 meters.
The scenery here is just beautiful! The ashram overlooks a valley with beautiful forests and lovely colourful birds. Everything is so peaceful and silent. The only thing you hear is the singing of the birds. …Click here to read the full article…

Update from Varanasi!

I am writing this post from beautiful Varanasi, the final destination of my Rajasthan trip. Visited lots of beautiful places in the last few weeks! After Jaisalmer (where I wrote my last post), we visited Jodphur (the blue city), Udaipur, Pushkar, Jaipur (the capital of Rajasthan, also known as pink city) and Agra. In Agra I visited the Taj Mahal at sunrise. It was absolutely stunning! Such a beautiful monument. It was kind of magical, really… …Click here to read the full article…
